Day Eighthappy birthday khala!!
ahh last day in jakarta. woke up to the sound of weird chanting after azan subuh tt morning. quite memekak. giant possibility of food poisoning. sickliness further developed. breakfast: koko krunch and too sweet tea. mama and khala disappeared in search of the soveryhardtofind kains for abah and khali. amati then brought ameera and i to najwa's house to take a look see at the kain batiks for sale there. very. burok. except for one pattern. which wasnt too bad. reasonable actually. so ameera and i picked three different colours (one for her, one for me and one for faizah) and happily brought it back hoping tt our mums wouldnt say we have to return them cause they refused to pay for them. luckily they thought the kain batiks were niceish too=) ameera and i made sure the boys showered and kept their stuffs into the luggage (being the responsible souls we are). when mama and khala came home (with the kains for our dads) they did last minute packing and then all of us ciao-ed and lugged our bags to ami alwi's house where jiddah maryam had prepared lunch for us. now that. was EXCELLENT!! go jiddah! at last. i found someone who's cooking is worthy of a competition against baba's cooking! after lunch the adults were rotting indoors chatting and the tiny indonesian folks were playing outside. so i happily sat outside with my camera takng a video of them playing. (with constant zooming into nabil. haha) ami alwi then brought us kids to a shop nearby to get drinks. i diedie wanted to taste the friggin tehbotol. so when i finally got it.. and tasted it.. i felt like crying. it was the flowershit tea. *blinks*
anw in the end we all went to the airport. ran around with ameera and the boys who were all trying to smack my butt. ahh cute things. rather sad to leave them and board the plane. but ohwells. *sigh* slept in the plane. waited forever to get our luggage frm changi airport (due to some double checking they had to do and which they professionally apologized for) greeted by abah and khali and prettiness. ohh singapore is so home. the boys had dinner at macs while mama and i watched. my stomach was really upset by then. then at last we went hooome! in two seaparate cabs. and i showered in a PROPER toilet with toilet paper and a sink and a mirror and a flush that works!! went to sleep in my darling bed feeling super CLEAN!! =)
so. lessons i've learnt from the trip:
- indonesians LOVE. sugar.
- and they strongly believe in respect.
- to appreciate toilet paper more. =)
