Day Seven

mandi-ed gayung that morning. the tap was not functioning so i had to use the kolam water which could be infested with jentik-jentiks. cudnt tell cause had not put lens on yet. breakfast: half an apom (that was far too sweet. the other half shoved down aman's throat.) sat to watch spongebob with aman and ameera. more phototaking by the adults who were busy being sad and emotional. soon we had to leave so we said goodbye to khalati ijah (who had to work) one by one. she was so sad she cried.
everyone else (minus alwi and muhammad who had school) sent us to the railway station. more goodbyes were exchanged and even more photos taken and more tears shed. said goodbye to habib, baba and faizah who were staying on in solo till 24th march. it was quite sad. i was just about to appreciate solo. then we had to leave.
starved throughout first half of train ride. fell asleep (due to sleep deprivation). woke up to eat cherry bread packed by jiddah arfah then slept some more. lunch (crappy tiny bit of rice) was served. began to feel the sickliness within self. kept sneezing. began to feel horrible about not being able to attend primary school reunion. wondered what those crazy nuts were up to.
finally arrived back in jakarta. ami salim greeted us at the platform and helped us lug our many bags down to the parking lot. ami alwi was waiting for us there. that was when i realised tt ami alwi has such. nice. hands. on the way to ami salim's house we singaporeans were dropped off in the middle of the road to ride on a bajaj each. okay three to a bajaj in my case. i was with mama and khala while ameera was with the boys. the roads are SO. polluted!! and it was friggin noisy. i really hated the ride. it didnt look safe either. was so grateful to get back into the car. along the way ami alwi, mama and khala stopped at PCG then ami salim campaked the rest of us at his house.
after settling in and showering, amati fatimah showed us pictures of her kids and her wedding photos. ami salim is a very. particular man, and cheeky too!! cheeky ustadz. hmm. soon mama and khala came home. we had dinner. played with affaf for a bit. watched mama and khala pack our stuff in the room upstairs. suddenly couldnt belive tt we were leaving so soon. would definitely miss everyone in indonesia and the little things they have there like twenty cent brownies and becas and flowershit tea and the kolams and the pok ame ame song. slept at lemek outside upstairs room that night. nice night=)
