For Mama:
*clears throat* Before I begin, I'd like to inform you something:
You're so lucky; you raised an angel out of me you know.
The existence of my madrasah project I am conveniently forgetting.
Just so I can go on and on about why I love you so=)

Firstly I'd like to say thank you for your patience
For listening to me even when you're not interested and for tolerating my nonsense
Thank you for helping me grow up and mature as a teen
By opening my eyes to the brutal reality of life (if you know what I mean)

Undoubtedly you do nag incessantly
And punish me for things that are trivial, to me at least.
Sometimes you make me feel so kecik hati,
Especially when you misunderstand me.

I must say though you're way cool unlike other mothers.
I mean, whose mum would join in checking out hot male strangers?
Plus, you were the on who taught me to lie.
Please lah, don't try to deny!

Oh and thank you mama,
For sharing your Alhabshi genes.
Yalah, yalah you jambu lah..
Just for today I'll believe in your wishful dreams.

Thanks for testing me all the shithead peribahasa,
Such that I got an e8 instead of an f9 last year.
Thanks for letting me buy that guitar.
You better go for my concert ah.

You taught me to respect you,
Tell me off when I was out line.
You taught me to recognise that boys can really suck.
But then you also told me that my first crush was like.. yuck.

Your patience inspires me to be like you:
A selfless woman, the epitome of altruism.
Someday I hope to be a mother as good as you.
Then teach my daughter to masak cincaru.

I know I've not been the perfect daughter.
I've done things less than appropriate.
I wish I could erase all my dosa.
Do forgive me for breaking your heart.

So you say you want a break from being a mother?
That's a fine way to spend your day, I agree.
No need for vacuuming and cleaning up after us slobs,
Or painstakingly teach Mohammed to calculate seven times three.

You are denied the responsibility of doing stuff in the kitchen,
Like washing the dishes or cleaning the cupboards.
So please dutifully stand by your decision.
Nagging is prohibited.

Happy Mothers' Day

For Khala:
You are as much a mother as you are an aunt
You too nag at me as much as you want
You were there for me whenever i needed you
okla okla you're jambu too

Happy Mothers' Day

I heart the both of youu!
